SubWatch is a subscription tracking app that helps you monitor recurring charges. We believe your financial data is your business, not ours. SubWatch is local-first: your subscription data lives on your device, and online AI features are optional and only run when you explicitly enable them.
All your subscription data is stored locally on your device. SubWatch does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data by default. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.
SubWatch offers two optional AI features that are turned off by default and only work after you explicitly consent in the app:
Natural Language Entry — when you type a description of a subscription (for example, "Netflix $15.99 monthly"), that text is sent for parsing so the AI can fill in the subscription details for you. Only the text you typed is sent.
Savings Advisor — when you request suggestions, the subscription name, price, currency, billing cycle, and category are sent so the AI can analyze your spending for potential savings. Only those fields are sent.
These requests are relayed through a Supabase Edge Function (which acts only as a relay and does not retain your data) to our AI providers (OpenRouter / Anthropic, using the claude-3.5-haiku model). Apart from transient error logs, nothing is retained on the server side. You can revoke consent at any time in Settings, and the features will immediately stop sending anything. All other features of the app work entirely offline.
We do not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks. There are no third-party SDKs that collect usage data.
You do not need to create an account to use SubWatch. There is no login, no cloud sync, and no server communication unless you explicitly enable the optional AI features described above.
All subscription data is stored on your device using local SQLite database storage. If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed from your device.
The only third-party services used are the AI providers described in the Optional AI Features section above, and only after your explicit consent. Core tracking, reminders, and analytics features work entirely offline and use no third-party services.
SubWatch does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app contains no features targeting children.
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
